As per its developmental missions in the areas of technical support and delivering consulting studies to member states, a delegate from API, headed by the Director General, visited the department of foreign trade of the ministry of Economy in Abu Dhabi, UAE, during the period 27-28 March 2016. The department of foreign trade requested the visit of the API team in order to look at the possibility of providing technical support in the area of consulting by commissioning API to develop an investment map for the whole UAE. The ministry intends to use the investment map as a tool to develop a virtual investment office. On the first day of the mission, the API delegation wet the undersecretary for foreign trade and discussed with him the different issues concerning developing the investment map. At the end of the meeting, API expressed its total commitment to deliver the study at the highest international standard. Afterwards, the API team met the technical team of the foreign trade department. Both teams discussed different issues inherent to investment maps and to issues related to enhancing cooperation between API and the ministry of trade. On the second day of the mission, the API team made a presentation on how to develop investment maps. After the discussion both teams discussed issues related to the terms and conditions on how best to deliver the study. Both teams agreed that a detailed technical proposal will be drafted by the API team and stands out as a TOR of the investment map study.
